We had a small but effective team of six. We all had different gifts and abilities and the Lord was glorified and lifted up.
Our Team: Cindy, Karen, Scott, Tammy, David and Josh
Some of the things we did while we were there is went into a village and did a two day VBS. This village is one that Clint and Karen used to do shirts in. We partnered with a school there and had a wonderful time. We had four stations, Craft, Bible story, Game and Music. The kids enjoyed themselves so much. At the end they gave us a wonderful thank you in speech and song.
Lives were changed that day. We plan to see them next year.
Our Team and the Kids in the village
We spent a lot of time at the Orphanage - Casa Hogar Canaan What an awesome group of kids and parents. Carlos and Yara take care of 21 kids in a small home. They teach them about Jesus. They all come from horrific backgrounds. There are many needs. We took gifts from to them from our congregation and took them all shopping and out to lunch for Sam's pizza. It was an unforgettable day. We plan to stay in touch with this wonderful family.

We went into the prison for a day and did a church service. They wouldn't allow any photo's. Three souls were saved that day by Scott's testimony. We also did a Jesus film in the village where we did the VBS. Over one hundred people heard the gospel in their Mayan language.
We were introduced to a wonderful missionary family, Lance and Sarah Keeling. They helped us and hung out with us while we visited Teopisca. They have a ministry called living among them We were blessed by them. Check out their website.

God is so good. We plan to pray and ask God, "Now what"? We went, we served, now how do we continue our help? There are so many needs there. These verses come to mind:
Psalm 82:3-4
Defend the cause of the weak and
fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and
needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
James 2:15-17
Suppose a brother or sister is
without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you
well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs,
what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by
action, is dead.
Action - God wants action from all of us. I know I don't have to walk far from my home to see the needs of others. God opened our eyes to the needs of Teopisca while we were there. We need to seek and see where he leads. If he opens your eyes today for a need, follow with action. He will be pleased.
