FINO Service Project

FINO is a Mexican registered non-profit organization dedicated to rural children. They strive to foster leadership and learning through access to books and computers, fun and interactive after-school programs and academic scholarships. FINO started in 2007 in an effort to give the future generations hope for a better economic conditions where families could be together at home. Originally developed by Craig and Sara Tylosky (members of Antioch Bible Community), there core program, leadership through Language, is an after school program where students are taught English by volunteers who foster language learning as well as leadership skills.
Over the last few years they have started a program in Jalpa, a small rural community located about 20-Km from San Miguel. They recently were given a building to expand their ministry in the small community of Lapalma. This Saturday Scott and I and some others from Antioch were able to help in getting the building ready for these young children. It is a process and we will have to go back and finish, but we got a lot done today. Here are some pictures from the day.
